    "Edmund Tenney, who was baptized 6 Sept, 1741 (Byfield parish church record), son of Ebenezer and Ann (_____); published in Rowley, Mass, 23 Sept, 1763; married 8 Nov, 1763, Hannah Wood. He was a member of Ipswich company of 'Minute Men' who marched upon the memorable alarm of 19 Apr, 1775, from Linebrook parish, under Capt. Abraham How, the distance about eighty miles, the time one or two days. Service approved 3 Apr., 1776. (Mass. Archives, 12:146.) After the death of his wife he, with his three sons, removed to New Hampshire. (Lucy M. Tenney.) Resided at Pembroke and Concord, and died at Gilmanton, N. H."
