Facts and Events
The Price families were probably living in the part of Augusta County that was put into Bath county in 1790. Edmund's father Thomas had already moved next door to Randolph County by then, but Edmund stayed behind and married his wife in 1792. Rev. John E. Cox in his 1826 Thomas Price (A Pioneer in Posey County, Indiana) and His Descendants writes that Edmund "moved down the river about Catlettsburg, and then went west and all trace of him was lost." (p. 50) Edmund appears on the 1811 Tax List for Greenup County, the 1820 Greenup County census, and the 1830 Lawrence County census, next door to son James. I haven't been able to find him yet on later census records. Edmond patented 50 acres of land on the Sandy River in 1822, and another 50 acres of land on Rows Creek, in Lawrence County, in 1827. I don't have proof that this Edmund is the Edmund mentioned as the son of Thomas Price, and I don't have proof this is the same Edmund Price who married Mayor Fitzpatrick in Bath County, but I'm assuming both for the moment because the dates and places fit well.
