!DNA: Haplogroup U6a, variations from the Cambridge Reference Sequence on HVR1: 16172C, 16219G, 16278T. This shows European descent, as proven by mtDNA test of Michelle Doucette (michele.doucette@nf.sympatico.ca) in Oct 2006. Edmée's mother, therefore, was not of Amerindian origin.

!PARENTS: Stephen A. White, DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES ACADIENNES; [vol. 3] ENGLISH SUPPLEMENT; Moncton, New Brunswick, Centre d'Etudes Acadiennes, 2000; p. 225. Father A. Godbout suggested (in DICTIONNAIRE DES ACADIENS, p. 477) that Pierre LEJEUNE dit Briard was Edmée & Catherine LEJEUNE's brother. But S. A. White points out that the absence of a dispensation for kindred in the marriage of a granddaughter of Pierre & a grandson of Catherine LEJEUNE (St-Servan Register 8 Jan 1760) leads to the conclusion that neither Catherine nor Edmée was Pierre's sister.

Edmée (Aimee) LE JEUNE was born around 1624 in La Hêve [Acadia], daughter of Pierre LE JEUNE & a Mi'kmag maid. She had two [sic] siblings: Pierre dit Briard [sic] LE JEUNE born about 1630; and Catherine LE JEUNE dit Briard, born about 1633.

The relationships as siblings is disputed by Stephen A. White based on lack of dispensations. Only Catherine & Edmée were proven sisters.
