- ↑ 1950 [newspaper unknown]: Mrs. Edith Henderson, of Wardsville, an active community worker all her life, died in Parkwood Hospital after a prolonged illness. She was 75. A native of England, she came to Canada at an early age. Mrs. Henderson was the widow of James Franklin Henderson, of Wardsville, who died in 1935. Active in church and community affairs before her illness, Mrs. Henderson was a member of Wardsville Anglican Church. She was former president of the Women's Institute, former president of the local chapter of the Red Cross and at one time was a member of the School Board. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Lorine Henderson, of London; and Mrs. Howard (Nora) Jackman, Richmond Hill; a son Lynn, of Wardsville; two sisters, Mrs. George (Mabel) McBride, Edmonton, Alta., and Mrs. W. (Frances), Sr., of San Francisco, Cal.; two brothers, Sydney Staples, of Norquay, Sask., and Arthur, of Detroit; and two grandchildren. The body is at her home in Wardsville where funeral service will be held Monday, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Wardsville Cemetery.
