    Earl Edward Jones, 78, Rocky Point, died Jan. 12, 2002, in Klamath Falls. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Haven of Rest Mausoleum in Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens with Pastor Audye Wiley officiating. Ward's Klamath Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Jones was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Chino, Calif., to William and Jennie May (Eick) Jones. As a teenager, he moved with is family from Rogue River to Klamath Falls in 1937. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Eva June Cook on Jan. 18, 1946, in Klamath Falls.

    Mr. Jones worked at Klamath Machinery & Locomotive and Klamath Machinery Co. before starting his own business, JonCo Mill Specialties. In 1993, he and is wife retired. He enjoyed travel and fishing, especially ocean fishing out of Brookings.

    Mr. Jones was a member of the Klamath Falls Elks Lodge, Scottish Rite bodies, Crater Lake Masonic Lodge No. 211, Hillah Temple, Klamath Falls Shrine Club and Cascade Social Club.

    Survivors include his wife . . Jones of Rocky Point; son; daughter and son-in-law; grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Arlyn Jones of Klamath Falls and Bill and Marcella Jones of Brookings; brother, David Jones of Coos Bay; sister, Evelyn Hayhurst of Fresno, Calif.; and sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Luther Slaughter of Springfield. He was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Norman and Morris Jones.

    Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201, or the charity of the donor's choice.
