GOODWIN -- Dorothy Elaine Goodwin, 78, went to be with the Lord on New Year's Day.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Claude; her daughters, Kathleen, Patricia and husband, Jeff, and Becky and husband, Mike; and the apples of her eye, her grandsons, Davis and Evan; her brothers, Elbert and wife Jean, Raymond and wife, Betty; her sister, Della; and many loving nieces and nephews who share fond memories of her kindness and generosity.

Dorothy was born on April 30, 1927, in Shiprock, New Mexico, to Hannah and Homer Smith.

She grew up in Aztec, NM and El Paso, TX, graduating from Ysleta HS. After her marriage to Claude, she worked outside the home for many years; however, her true vocation was always being a loving wife and mother. She was actively involved in the many activities of her daughters for many years. In her earlier years, she was an active member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Her passions included bowling, which she did for many years until her arthritis kept her from it; gardening when she was able; enjoying the many flowers that Claude grows in their yard; attending Lobo basketball games which she and Claude did for over 30 years; and watching the Price is Right daily.
