    p. 1 - Richard Hill married Dorcas Moberley (no dates or sources)
    p. 2 - On 2 Nov 1772, Dorcus Hill received a grant of 203 acres in Craven, Branches of Beaver Creek. (Source: Book 15, p. 441, Craven County, S.C.) Immediate neighbors were Thomas Meadows, Allen Beams, Richard Hill, Samuel Mobley. Dorcus would have had to be a widow to receive land, so the Richard Hill may be her deceased husband. Samuel Mobley is probably her brother, while Thomas Meadows is probably her brother-in-law.
    p. 2 - Dorcas sold 103 acres of land on Beaver Creek, bounded by Albert Beams, Asaph Hill and William Hill's Land, to Asaph Hill, recorded in Fairfield deed (Deed Book 1, page 102) in 1795
    p. 3 - Dorcas sold 100 acres of land located on Beaver Creek to Willialm Hill Jr., "Being part of 200 acres of land granted me 14th July 1744", bounded on the NW on Dorcus Hill's land, SW and SE on Richard Hill's land, WE [sic] on Beams land. (Deed Book L, p. 171, 6 Jan 193, filed 1798). Witnessed by Wm. Alsup and Richard Hill, Moses Hill JP. Signed by Mark. Below when verifying the sale of land Dorcus signed her name.

    Dorcas Moberley, b. ca 1720, lvd. N.W. Fairfield) m. 1766 Richard Hill, b. 1748 VA, d. bef. 1772 [s/o Charles Hill b 1726 Surry Co., VA, m. Sara Bell 1745]

  3. While Mobley lists Dorcas' birth date as about 1720, he places her last in his list of children of Edward Mobberly, all the others having been listed in chronological order. Could the 1720 date have been a typo? and meant to be about 1750? The 1720 date conflicts with documented dates for William and Clement, and is also way out of line for her to have married Richard Hill. A birth date of about 1750, however, does not conflict with other information about the Dorcas and her family.
