Facts and Events
Janie: I am unsure in which Missouri county Jacob's children were born in. Certain records say it was in Polo, Ray County; but Polo is in Caldwell County. See the father, Jacob Isaac's Notes Manuscript on the family of Jacob Isaac Jackson and Martha Jane Ford: Dora was known as Aunt Pet. DORA LILLIAN PET JACKSON EMERY - 10/11/1873 to 3/29/1959 Mrs. Dora Lillian Pet Emery was found dead by her bed early Monday morning. She was 85 years old and had lived alone the past 11 years since the death of her husband, John Emery. She was found by R. W. Hufft and Mrs. Lucille Jones while Mr. Hufft was delivering oil and Mrs. Jones was calling. The coroner's inquest determined the time of death as late Sunday and from natural causes. She had not been very well for sometime, but able to care for herself. Mrs. Jackson was the youngest of 16 children of Jacob and Martha Jackson, all of whom have preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00p at the Polo Methodist Church with Rev. M. O. Eisenhower officiating assisted by Reverend Don Stanley. Burial was made in the Cowgill Cemetery in charge of Alspaugh-Cowley mortuary. Casket bearers were nephews: Glenn Teegarden, Carl Jackson, John Thomas Hyder, Roger Jackson, Hugh D. Teegarden, and Donald Jackson. References
