A rootsweb chart gives his name as Andrew Donelson Jackson. David Jackson's Bible record does not record the first name as Andrew but records his name as Dolenson Jackson; so that is what is used here. A descendant has letters written by Andrew's granddaughter in which she says his name was Andrew Dolinson Jackson and her father's name was Andrew Dolinson Jackson Jr. The Bible does record Dolenson's marriage to Elizabeth E. J. Means.

According to handwritten family tree records from Pauline Moses, Winnie Clementine's father was Solimon Jackson (Might say Solison?). Need to look further to see if records can be found on that family.

Listed in the 1870 Nacogdoches County, Texas Census, District 1, enumerated September 13, page 5, Dwelling 34, Household 34 as Donalson Jackson, age 46, blacksmith, born TN, cannot read or write. With wife, Elizabeth J., born MO; Daughter Sary M., born TX; and son Andrew D., born TX.

Listed in the 1880 Madison County, Texas Census, District 99, page 27, enumerated June 16th, Dwelling 243, Household 243 as Donalson Jackson, age 62, Blacksmith, born TN, parents born NC. With wife Elizabeth, living next door to son Andrew and family.

Elizabeth is listed as widow, living with their son Andrew in the 1900 Madison County, Texas Census.
