Services Held Sunday for Murphy Donald Benoit

VINTON, LA. Aug. 13. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Vinton residence of Murphy Donald Benoit, 32, who died at 3 a.m., Saturday at the John Sealy hospital in Galveston.

The Rev. Mr. Bell, Methodist minister at Vinton, conducted the service. Burial was at Niblett's Bluff Cemetery, with the Hixson Funeral Home in charge.

A lifelong resident of Vinton, Mr. Benoit was born at Singer, LA, and was a member of the Methodist church. He had been employed at the Consolidated Shipyards at Orange, TX.

He is survived by his widow, Stella Benoit, a brother, and his father, Murphy Benoit.

Funeral Rites for Murphy D. Benoit

VINTON, LA. Aug. 14. Murphy Donald Benoit died at John Sealey Hospital in Galveston Saturday at 3 am.

A native of Vinton, he attended Vinton high school, and was employed at Consolidated Steel Corporation in Orange as night fire inspector.

Funeral services were held at the family home Sunday at 4 pm. under the direction of Hixson funeral home. Rev. G.A. Bell conducted the services and burial was at Nibletts Bluff Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Benoit are his father, Murphy Benoit, his wife, and one brother, Bob Benoit, all of Vinton.

Pallbearers were Floyd Holland, Olivier Barrios(?), Phillip F?, Harry Navarre, Paul Johnson, and German Wing.
