Note from Russell Smith: BIOGRAPHY: Alfred moved to Sweetwater in 1924 and married Della Gray. They had five children and the oldest was my father, Leslie Smith, born September 22, 1925. He married Esta Stracener in 1943 and I was born in Sweetwater on September 18, 1953. I married Darla Polnack in 1984 and we have a daughter, Sabrina Ann, born in 1985 and our son Glen Russell Smith was born September 13, 1989, continuing the American line of Smiths begun by John Smith 250 years ago.
