    Delbert J. (Joe) Overton, age 79, residing at 5925 W. 58th St., Mission, Ks., born in Nevada, Mo., died 12 May 1971 at Shawnee Mission Hospital. He lived in the Kansas City area 60 years. He was owner and operator (with his sons) of D. J. & Sons Ice company, for 30 years; retired maintenance worker for Farmland Industries Inc.; former member of West Side Christian Church; and member of Rural Masonic lodge #316.

    Survived by wife, Mrs. Irene F. Overton; son, Herbert L. Overton (Hesston, Ks.); son, Delbert W. Overton (5416 W. 50th, Mission); son, Norbey A. Overton (Plainwell, Mich.); daughter, Mrs. Helen Irene Higgins (St. Joseph, Mo.); brother, Orville Overton (4175 Cambridge, Kansas City, Ks.); sister, Mrs. Naomi Denison (12419 E. 43rd, Independence, Mo.); six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Visitation after 7 p.m. Friday [14 May 1971] at Muehlebach chapel. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday [15 May 1971] at the chapel. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
