Thwing, David, b. 4 Aug 1774, "went South and married a lady there, whose name is unknown, and who married again after his death and went to Texas. In 1806 he was a ship joiner in Charleston, South Carolina, and in 1820 he was in Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee, near which place he died, having been run over by a loaded wagon at Hazel Green. It was on July 9, but the exact year is not known - about 1830. He left no children." [Quoted at length because details differ slightly from reality as if reported by letters, not experienced first hand. His wife had a previous marriage, not a subsequent marriage. As a widow, she remained in Tennessee, but the children migrated to Texas. Presumably, this refers to Hazel Green, AL which is about 16 miles south of Fayetteville, TN.]

Children of John Thwing and Sarah Chamberlain: David, b. 4 Aug 1774. "David went to South Carolina, then to W. Tennessee, where he d., leaving two or three children." [Like above, off in small details as if communicated solely by letter. Fayetteville is south of Nashville, pretty close to the middle in the east-west direction. There were no natural children, but David's will mentions an adopted son and his step-daughter.]
