" [4] Letter from Mary Lou Morrow Chavez to Mrs. Scott dated 9 Mar 1988 states: William Arthur Morrow's oldest daughter (Lillian) says that we are part Indian and that would fit what Lorea Morrow said about David J. Morrow that his Mother was the daughter of a white woman that was captured by an Indian Chief. D.Js. was 1/2 cherokee or 1/4. She said, now remember, this was a tale told to me sixty years ago, but I have not forgotten it."
