The thirteenth child of James and Ann Gray McClung was born in Rockbridge Co., VA 6 July 1776. He was a farmer and cabinet maker. He learned his trade in Philadelphia, PA. He was small of stature and had an exceedingly pleasant voice. He md 1) 16 Oct 1803 to Polly Cloyd. Polly died 6 Mar 1807. They had two children. David md 2) 12 Apr 1808 to Nancy Henderson. She was born 16 Nov 1782 in PA, and died 9 Nov 1862. They reared seven children at Troy, OH. By 1850 Nancy is living in Concord Twp, Miami Co., OH with three sons: John, William B., and Addison.
