When David married Sarah Jane Porter they lived on the property adjoinging the John Odil place in Maury County, which was left to him by his father. (See James Kerr Will). "March 17th, 1820, David Kerr covenanted with his mother, Nancy Kerr, to give and put in possession of said mother, Nancy, 43 acers of land to be hers during her natural life to include buildings and springs where Hugh Magill did live; to keep his mother, Nancy in peaceable possession on the above land. " Signed Richard Hill, Samuel Kerr, and John Odil. He and Sarah raised a large family and lived their lives in Maury County. David died after a long illness of apoplexy. He was held in high esteem by the whole community, a devoted and warm hearted christian, serving the Presbypterian church untill his death. He is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Maury County, Tennessee
