There are two problems with this census that stand out to me. First, someone other than David gave the info to the enumerator as David wasn't born in VA and he knew where his parents were born. Second, there are two persons here married within the year, William and Lucy. IF Lucy is William's wife, she is properly listed as a daughter-in-law but it is unlikely she would have been 39 yrs old. As she and her parents birth states are the same as Mary's, then could Lucy have been Mary's sister? Then her age of 39 years would make more sense.

Circumstances noted in Booker J. Jackson's record confirm he is son of Booker A. Jackson.
Note that Edward Jackson, father of Booker A. Jackson, died several miles slightly SE from LaFayette, Walker Co.
Booker J's son David C. Jackson m Mary Ann Pope and they moved to LaFayette, Walker Co where they are found in the 1880 census! Notice that Booker J. (grandson of Edward) is found in the Gwinnett, GA 1840 census.
