    "(2681) … David (Hoyt),4, b. 1676; … It is said that he was one of the seven men who, during the attack on Deerfield, Mass., successfully defended the house which took fire after the Indians left. They pursued the Indians, and David was killed the same day in the 'Fight in Deerfield medow,' 29 Feb., 1703-4."
