    ... Their son, Rev. David Hall, was born in Yarmouth, August 6, 1704, and died in Sutton, Mass., May 8, 1789. Graduating from Harvard College 1724, and ordained pastor of Sutton October 15, 1729, he held this position until his death. Dartmouth College gave him the honorary degree of D.D. 1777. He was an intimate friend of Dr. Jonathan Edwards, and one of the candidates for the Presidency of Princeton College, when Jonathan Edwards was elected to that office. He married, June 24, 1731, Elizabeth, the daughter of Dr. Jonathan and Rebecca (Bulkeley) Prescott, born December 2, 1713, and died August 7, 1803. ...
