Rev. David Davies was minister of Zion Baptist Church in Bacup, Lancashire, from 1868-1873. [2] During that time the church founded a Sunday School in nearby Stacksteads, called Acre Mill. This later became a separate church which remains active today. [3]
He returned to Wales and was minister of Pennar Baptist Church in Pembroke Dock from 1893 to 1899. Although by this stage in his 60s, he organised the first Eisteddfod in Pembroke Dock to pay off the building debts of the new church. He retired in ill health at the age of 69, dying a year later in Swansea. [4]
