MERRITT, DARREL Comstock Park Darrel Merritt, age 66, of Comstock Park, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 9, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin L. Merritt; his nephew, Jamie Brower. He is survived by his mother, Helen Merritt; his daughter, Ranae and Jim McDonald; granddaughter, Mandi and Casey Robrahn; great granddaughter, Oakleigh; his son, Jerry and Melanie Merritt; his grandchildren, Shane Keely, Naomi Keely; his daughter, Jennifer Merritt and friend Wayne; his grandsons, Cody, Mitchell, and Matthew Robins; son, David Woellper; brother, David and Sam Merritt-Shaw; his nieces, Melinda and Lawrence Gillet, Michele and Mark Segal, Melanie Merritt-Taylor; sister, Joanne and Alan Glockner; nephews, Todd and Wendy Brower, "Junior" Glockner; brother, Gary and Cathy Merritt; nephews, Kevin and Mandy Merritt, Calvin and Jennifer Merritt, Kris and Camrin Merritt; brother, John and Kris Merritt; nieces, Amanda and Matt Cisler, Amber and Travis Dyk; nephew, Corey Merritt; several great nephews and nieces; several uncles and aunts and countless friends. Darrel was a member of Resurrection Fellowship Church and a court officer of the 61st District Court for 10 years. Darrel will be remembered for his laughter, willingness to help others, his kindness, and passion for life. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the VanderLaan Funeral Home with Rev. Gary E. Hankins officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery.
