Soon after death of father was taken into family of Grandfather, Deacon Daniel Hovey at Hadley, where he was raised. He returned to Ipswich with his Grandfather in 1678. At death of grandfather Daniel received a considerable part of the estate and was named one of the executors of that will by his grandfather.
