A more awfully sudden death has never occurred than one which happened on Sunday last, in the parish church of Maxey, near Market Deeping. Just as the people had assembled for public worship, Mr. Daniel Cox, farmer, of that village, who had walked to church in his usual heatlh (suffering a little from difficulty of breathing), entered his pew. The minister, observing him from the desk, thought he saw in his countenance indications of the breaking up of his constitution, and before the reading of the exhortation was finished, Mr. Cox sprang from the pew, fell backwards into the aisle with great violence, and instantly expired, without a sigh or a groan. The clergyman attempted to bleed him, but blood would not flow. - It was the birth-day of the deceased, who on that day entered his 67th year.
