One of Dallas' parents listed his birthplace as Louisiana in the 1920 Census, he himself listed it as Texas in the 1940 Census, and the Social Security Administration would have us believe that he was born in Arkansas. His parents relocated several times during his childhood and it's likely that Dallas may have honestly not known or remembered where he was born exactly, other than in the vicinity of Texarkana.

Dallas was both married and widowed in the period between 1920 and 1940. There is a Dallas Ford recorded as having married a Sinia Rhoden, 3 December 1937, in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
