    Same being "P.G. Colburn, JP"

  4.   Mason, James R. Interview with Cora Leach.

"C - Uriah Leach and Edith Snowman was my paternal, and my maternal grandparent were Wilbur Gray and ah ... Cora West."

  5.   Some investigation was done to see if this is actually Cora Freese, who married James West and divorced him in Jan 1881. However, the combination of the grave stone (which seems to give her age at death of only 20), the 1880 census that gives her age as 17, and the 1880 census also placing Cora Freese West still in the household of James West - almost completely rule out the possibility.
  6.   Improbable, but worth noting for now that a "Cora Gray West" is born in Provincetown, MA in 1866, to parents from Nova Scotia.
  7. Calculated on assumption of grave stone statement of 20 years, 6 months, 11 days
  8.   During her lifetime, Cora Leach reported that there was a family oral tradition of Native American ancestry. Such ancestry has not been found elsewhere in Cora Leach's ancestry - suggesting perhaps - that it comes from Cora West. Perhaps Cora West was the subject of an adoption from Native American parents?
  9.   Wikitree now offers John West and Hannah Varnum/Farnum as parents. I adopt them for the present. Regrettably no source at this time.
