    Comfort (s. of John 1) lived near the bridge called Comfort's
    bridge ; his ss. were Samuel, Joshua, Isaac, and he had
    probably other children. He was a Trooper in Philip's war, and
    left a manuscript, giving an account of one of the skirmishes of
    the period, which is now unfortunately lost.—Mercy [Mary] Willis m. Samuel Hall of Taunton 1718.

    No dates for Comfort can be found. On Hannah's grave stone she is listed as being "the wife of Comfort Willis" 1723. Comfort served in King Philip War 1671: he was active in the town of Bridgewater, elected a trooper 1671 for 5 yrs, he was not listed when the Titicut Purchase 1675 was divided: "All householders and males over 20 year." Benjamin, John Sr. and Jr. were, also Nathaniel but whether Nathaniel was the son of John1 or his brother is not known.
