  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 Maple Grove Cemetery, in Find A Grave.

Tombstone shown, but half buried, only death year readable: Comfort Gunn
Date of death on his grave stone is 7 March 1860, his age at death being 75 years, 11 days. But the U.S. Government gives Comfort's death as 11 March 1859 (having to do with pension). Comfort is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, by the side of his wife, in Mason, Ingham County, Michigan -- Plot: Section A - Lot 19.

  2.   WIFE: There is no evidence that Sara "Sally" Wheeler is Comfort's wife. Daughter Almeda reported that her mother was born in 1792 in Rutland County, Vermont, and that she moved with her parents to New York in 1803. But Sally Wheeler was born in 1792 in Rutland, Worcester, Massachusetts.
But there is at least one more possibility, one that looks more likely:

    Name Sarah Messer
    Birth Date 12 Oct 1792
    Birthplace RUTLAND TWP,RUTLAND,VERMONT
"Vermont Births and Christenings, 1765-1908," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F8L9-FJ6), Sarah Messer, 12 Oct 1792; citing RUTLAND TWP,RUTLAND,VERMONT, reference ; FHL microfilm unknown.

Unfortunately, at this point nothing but the above is known about her.
