She married, probably in the early 1770s, John Yowell, said to be the son of Christopher Yowell/Uhl, the Germanna immigrant, and Margaret --?--.(30) He died in Madison Co. between 14 Jan. 1795, when he wrote his will, and 24 Sept. 1795, when it was proved.(31) In 1767/1768 John Yowell and James Hurt were the chain carriers for the survey of a tract of land to William2 Hurt. John Yowell made his mark as a witness to the 1781 will of James2 Hurt. He also signed a mark when he wrote his will on 14 Jan. 1795 in Madison Co. It was witnessed by Dennis Crow, William2 Hurt, James McAllister, and Benjamin Thomas.(32) References
