NOTE: The identity of Christopher's parents is still a mystery, but there are two good possibilities: Kingstanley Parish, Gloucestershire, and Feversham Parish, Shropshire, as these are the points of origin of many other early Rowles immigrants to the colonies. Another possibility is somewhere in Lincolnshire, as that was where Thomas Mears came from -- assuming (as many family researchers have) that Christopher's wife Alice was, in fact, Thomas Mears's daughter, Alice. --MikeTalk 10:55, 2 October 2010 (EDT)

    Know all men by these Presence that I, Christopher Rolls of the County of Providence in Maryland, do for a valuable consideration from Richard Talbott of the aforesaid Co. I have bargain and sell unto the aforesaid Richard Talbott 100 acres of land lying upon the N. side of the Western River between the land of Chapt. Ewen and Richard Mosby according as the surveyor has surveyed it the said land being known sold out is by me sold as aforesaid from me, my heirs, executor, and demonstrated or assignees for and unto Richard Talbott his heirs or assignees to be [illegible] within the promise. Witness my hand this tenth day of December 1656. In presence of Jno. Woodcott, Tho. Ringgold.
