Arrival to America
- Christian Muhleissen, along with Christoph Mühleisen, are listed the passenger list on the Ship "Restoration", that landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 9 October 1747; James Hall, Captain, from Rotterdam, last from Leith - inhabitants of the Palatinate and Places adjacent. - Page 541.--8th March, 1764. Michael Fenney and Cathrine ( ) to William Foster, £120, 365 acres in Fork of James on which Michael now liveth; corner Samuel Moore and Samuel McClure, Holman's line, McDowell's land. Teste: John Eger, Christian Godfrey Milliron. Delivered: Wm. Foster, 1768.
- Vol. 1 - MARCH 20, 1764. - (392) Christian Godfrey Milliron bound to appear on suspicion of murder of John Mathews--appeared and judgment that tho' the facts are not fully proved, yet the Court have some reasons for suspecting him--bound to next March Court.
- Page 442.--23d October. 1765. Settlement recorded of estate of John Mathews, by Sampson and George Mathews--19th July, 1764, to 1 bad double loon (doubloon) passed by Jas. Huston, and returned; 17th November, paid Stephen Arnold a debt due his son James; 4th December, paid James Trimble for holding 2 inquests and constables' fees; paid Alex. Walls. Contra--18th April, 1764, by gold sold; 1st September. 1764, by burned silver, by Randall Lafone (?), by Christian Miliron (uncertain whether can be got). (Note: this appears to be the last record of Christian Milliron in Augusta County. Although apparently acquitted, it is likely he left the area in light of the suspicion of killing John Matthews, Jr. and his family).
Information on Christian Muhleissen (Milliron)
From "A History of Rockbridge County", by Oren Frederic Morton, pg. 68:
- There were instances where some white scoundrel would disguise himself as an Indian and perpetrate an outrage. Such may be the explanation of the tragedy of the home of John Matthews, Jr., the nature of which recalls the Pettigrew horror of 1846. Sampson Matthews made oath that his brother John, his wife and their six children were burned to death in their house. A neighbor named Christian Godfrey Milliron was arrested on suspicion and held for trial at the capital. We do not know the result, but Milliron seems to have been acquitted.

Christian Godfrey Muhleissen was born abt. 1730. He married Mary? abt. 1763 Immigration 1747 on ship "Resturation" landed in Phi8ladelphia. Took oath of Allegiance to the English Crown 1747. Moved: 1753, traveled from Pennsylvania down Great Road (Now route 11 into Valley of VA. Property 1764 purchased land on north side of Maury River Lexington, VA. Children: David, William, Henry, Christopher. David m. Elizabeth Moulds, Aug. 8, 1797 in Botetourt Co. Va. daug. of Jacob Moulds. William m. Elizabeth McDonald, Sept. 21, 1787 Rockbridge Co. Va., Henry m. Elizabeth Wall May 29, 1780 Botetout Co. VA family line in Bedford and Franklin Counties, Christopher m. Abigail Wall Apr. 8, 1785 Botetourt Co. Va. Don't know answer to other question. Hope this helps. Let me know. I do have other information. My line decends from David and Elizabeth.
