Gazette Printing Company 1893 - Page 446 Chester Crafts, Born at Conway, Mass., 6 Mch., 1812, Married 24 Nov., 1834, Martha Graves Morgan, daughter of Hiram and Martha Morgan of West Springfield, Mass. She was born 16 May, 1813, and died 20 Oct., 1838, ae. 25. He married (second) 22 Sept., 1840. Sarah Wright Knight, daughter of Sylvester and Rachel (Lyman) Knight, and a sister of Lieut.-Gov. Horatio G. Knight of Easthampton, Mass. She was born 20 Nov., 1819, and died 9 Oct., 1841, ae. 22. He married (third) 31 May, 1843, Olive Louisa Day, daughter of Alexander and Phebe (Adkins) Day of West Springfield, Mass. She was born 28 Aug., 1821. He lived at what was then known as "Ireland Parish," West Springfield, now the city of Holyoke. He was an energetic, live, business man, carrying on a country store, an hotel, and a large farm. His industrious and frugal habits enabled him to accumulate a handsome property. He was elected to various public offices, and was one of the county commissioners for Hampden County. In 1837 he was appointed postmaster, holding that office until his death. He was for some years a director in the Hadley Falls National Bank of Holyoke (1893).
