Charles Wright was an agricultural labourer from Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire. He spent most of his life living with his parents, William and Sophia, in the Marshalls Heath / Cherry Trees area of Wheathampstead. When he was 35 he married Maria Hornet, who was exactly four years younger than him. They had at least two children together, but Charles died after only five years of marriage, at the age of 40.
