George Patterson and Charles Wannamaker used to wrestle with each other at the Wartburg Home. when 15 yrs.old He lied about his age to enlist in the Army. He was very tall for his age. Stationed at the Presidio in S.F., CA with the Calvary. Was on the Army Polo team. Joined the Paratroopers after the Calvary became mechanized. (82nd Airborne) killed in action at Normandy, France.
