Sir Charles Scarborough, M.D.,

  Sir Charles Scarborough, of London, England, Born 1616, remained in 

England when his parents emigrated to America, and held many positions under the Crown; A.M. of Caius College in 1639, where he became a Fellow; Doctor of Physics at M(K)erton College, Oxford in 1646; Court Physician to Charles II, James II and William II and Mary. Member of Parliament, and Knighted August 11th, 1669. Married Mary, Daughter of Thomas Daniel of Newberry County Bedford. Sir Charles died February 26th 1694, and is buried at Cranford, Middlesex. His Portrait hangs in the Barbers Surgeons Hall, in London. His known children were Charles Scarborough, Esquire, who was in the service of Prince George of Denmark, and was Envoy from him to his brother, the King of Denmark on his accession to the Crown; and the Reverend Edmond Scarborough, whom as born in 1656, and died in 1705.

  An impressive monument to his memory with the inscription in both 

Latin and English is in the Church of St. Dunsten and Holy Angles, Cranford Park near London in which church his remains are in a crypt in a wall rest, in Parish Church of St. Dunchan, and Church of the Holy Angles....
