About Charles Quinell

Charles Albert Quinnell was born and raised in Hastings, Sussex, United Kingdom. He served in the Royal Sussex Regiment in the first world war in both Galipoli and Palestine. Following the war he emmigrated to Canada to find work in 1922. He married Ina May Jannack in 1926 and lived in Ottawa, Ontario. There was a rumour that he had a previous wife back in England, so to quell the rumour he travelled to England with his wife and two young chidren to introduce his wife to his family. During the second world war Charles joined the Blackwatch malitia and resided in Montreal Quebec. He continued to live in Montreal while working for the C.P.R.
