1785 - Butcher of South Lopham at the time of writing his will on 13 November. He signed with his mark as Charles Murton the elder. In it he names his wife as Hannah, sons as James and Charles and daughters as Hannah, wife of Thomas RUDDOCK, Sarah and Elizabeth.

1819 - Will was proved on 14 July.
