CHARLES HYDE was born in 27 Dec 1871 at Quebec, Canada. He immigrated from Canada in 1874. Charles states on his 1900 census record that he entered the country in 1874, presumably with his family since he was 2 years old. He was naturalized in 1892, when he turned 21.

He appeared on the census of 1900 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Charles was in the Navy. He was a Gunners mate 2nd Class on the USS_Kearsarge (BB-5)

He married MARY RINKE, daughter of CARL (CHARLES) RINKE and HELENA BRANT, on 11 Mar 1904 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, at the age of 32. The 1910 census states they had been married for six years. Charles and Mary had seven children, with son Henry and daughters Irma, Loretta, and Mercedes surviving childhood. Twins Anna and Charles died at birth. Daughter Clara died at age ten.S1 He worked at Cadillac Motor Car Co in 1905.

He and MARY RINKE appeared on the census of 1910 at Hamtramck Township, Hamtramck Village, Wayne County, Michigan. He was a Tinsmith at a car company in 1910. He and MARY RINKE appeared on the census of 1920 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. He was an Electrician at an Auto Tire company in 1920.

He died in 1928 at Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
