May 20th, 1895 in this city, Charles Hinton, son of D. R. and Lizzie Gott, aged 18 years, 8 months and 23 days.
In this demise, the second since the last issue of the Journal, we record the death of a young man who was known to us all. Quiet, unassuming, honest and industrious are some of the characteristics of young Gott. Charles was the eldest of the sons and was born in Guthrie county, Iowa on Aug. 27th, 1875. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon last, and was made the occasion for a most affecting discourse by the pastor, Rev. J. W. White, and an example portrayed to the younger portion of the large congregation, which cannot help but bring forth good fruit. The family and relations have sympathy from the entire community in their sad bereavement.
