Charles GODIN dit LINCOUR, born 1736, son of Jean BELLEFONTAINE [sic] & Francoise DUGAS [sic], [father's entry says he was born around 1750]. He settled in Louisiana. Also on p. 2495 (Louisiana). Charles GODIN dit LINCOUR, born around 1746, son of Jean Bellefontaine dit Lincour & Francoise DUGAS, married to Marie-Josephe BABIN (no parents given for her); six children. In 1769, he occupied lot number 63, on the west bank of the Mississippi, at Saint James [LA]. !BIRTH-MARRIAGE-DEATH: On Ancestor Chart sent by Arthur O. KOHN, 15602 Highway #6, Santa Fe, TX 77517-2400, in Jan 1995. Says he was possibly born in France in 1756. Married in 1770 in St. James parish, LA. Died in 1841? A note says: he was a French statesman, financier and author. Napoleon made him "Die_de Gaete." His son-in-law Caleb Baker WATKINS was his administrator, Martin [sic, different man?] signed a quittance on 8 May 1832 to Caleb. References
