His Portage, Kalamazoo County, Michigan Marriage record say he was born in Rochester, New York.

  10. His parents marriage is sourced by his father's Civil War Pension file. He was probably born near Rochester, Monroe County, New York since his father is living in this County though not in Rochester in 1850 with his sister. I have not found his mother in the 1850 census, or her family either yet.
