Celia Foot was baptised on 25th January 1756 at Bere Ferrers in Devon, daughter of Christopher and Mary Foot. She was the seventh of nine children, although at least three of her older siblings had died before Celia was born.

Celia was married on 29th April 1782, aged 26, to John Drake. John's sister Elizabeth was already married to Celia's brother Christopher. Celia and John had five children baptised at Bere Ferrers between 1784 and 1793, although their son Christopher died as a baby in 1793.

Celia was buried at Bere Ferrers on 29th April 1797, aged 41. Her youngest daughter was only four years old when Celia died. John survived her by nearly 34 years and married again seven years after her death.

Jan[ua]ry 25 Celia Daughter of Christopher & Mary Foot

This baptism has been linked to the Celia Foot who married John Drake on the basis that one of the witnesses to her marriage was Christopher Foot, who is presumably either her father or brother. It is also in the same parish in which she married and at a plausible time.
