Catherine was the second known child of a couple named Dennis Kelly and Bridget (Biddy) Murphy. She was baptised on 24th April 1828 at Monasterevin in County Kildare, with the family's address given as Boherbaun. No further sightings of Catherine have yet been found. One possibility is that she was the Catherine Kelly of Boherbaun who married William Hyland at Monasterevin on 2nd June 1851, but this has yet to be proven.
