Catherine Andrews was baptised on 19th September 1830 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, daughter of Sophia Andrews, formerly Cox, and her husband William Andrews, a butcher. Catherine was the elder of the couple's two children.

Catherine appears to have never left home. In each census she appears living in Barnack with her parents. Catherine was described as a dressmaker in the 1861 census. In 1881 she was described as being housekeeper for her elderly father. Catherine's father died in 1883. The 1891 census finds Catherine described as housekeeper to her brother. The house they lived in with their mother was described as having four rooms. Catherine's mother died in 1892, followed by her brother in 1895.

The 1901 census finds Catherine living alone in a four-roomed house in Barnack, which was quite probably the same house she had shared with her parents and brother. She died on 21st December 1901, aged 71. She was buried on Christmas Eve 1901. She left a will, and her estate was valued at nearly £831.
