Note: Several Ancestry Member Tree submissions and "A History of Monroe County, West Virginia", by Oren F. Morton claim that this Catherine Alexander was a daughter of Matthew Alexander (1777-1825), but Catherine was clearly too old to have been a daughter of that Matthew Alexander, but there is another Matthew Alexander, (b. 1746) that MAY possibly be the father of this Catherine Alexander. It appears that Oren Morton may have confused the children of the two Matthew Alexander's as they were born living in Monroe County, Virginia during the same timeframe. Additional research is necessary.
