GARDNER, Carolyn J. age 84, of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Maria Joseph Living Care Center. Carolyn was a long time member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the church choir, served as the chairman of the bereavement committee and was active in numerous other church activities. She enjoyed playing & teaching piano, doing stitchery, playing games and doing puzzles, reading and compiling the family's genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence & Loretta Schnieders; a sister and two brothers. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas P.; daughters & sons-in-law, Mary Gardner & John Kruer of West Alexandria, Patricia & Charles Ferrell of Rock Hill, SC; sons & daughters-in-law, Michael Gardner of Springboro, David & Annette Gardner of Clayton, Douglas Gardner & Gail Krentz of Springboro, Jeffrey Gardner of Terre Haute, IN; brother & sister-in-law,, John & Charlotte Schnieders of Venice, FL; sister-in-law, JoAnn Gardner of Ft. Wayne, IN.; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Mass of the Christian Burial 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road with Father Robert Hadden celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike from 5-8 PM Monday.
