Grandma Klotz would pack a couple of small suitcases and start walking to our house for a visit. Along the way she would get a ride. Just before lunchtime she would arrive on foot.

All morning long mother would tell us to be ready for grandmother's arrival. Late in the morning we would wait by the road for her to help her with her bags.

We would all have lunch together. Afterwards mom and grandma would take a nap. Mom seemed to nap the longest.

Cousin Marilyn told me there is a photo of grandma arriving with her bags and her grandchildren greeting her.
