Patent #30 (Abstract # 993).
On 4 Apr 1882, he was granted & patented 160 acres as a "school grant," just south of Lone Star. (This is the land where Lone Star Cemetery is located, on a corner of Calvin's property, and where many of the Jackson family is buried.) He apparently actually acquired it from the Texas & Pacific Railway Co., since the abstract appears under the company's name.
