Will of Bryan Sisson

Pages 436-38. Will of Bryan Sisson of the Parish of Saint Thomas in the county of Orange, being sick and weak in body, dated 21 June 1771.
My land containing 198 acres by survey to be kept under the management of my son Caleb for the support and maintainance of my wife Rachel during the term of five years and the Negroes (except one fellow George) to remain undivided and their crops annually to be settled with my two other sons William and George for the defraying their parts of the debts against the estate.
Caleb Sisson out of the crops annually pay unto Sarah Lantor £4 for the term of five years.
My wife Rachel have free liberty to live upon the said place undisturbed during the said term or live, otherwise to be allowed a sufficient maintainance, whence her will is to live according to her thirds.
James, Oliver, Frank and Cate, children of Isabella a mullatto woman, be bound and divided equally according to valuation.
The land whereon Thomas Morrison now lives be made him a good right and title thereto by the executors provided Morrison do pay an equal part of the debt upon his having deed for the same, otherwise to pay the remaining price of the land.
My land which my son Caleb is to have the management of for five years shall at the expiration of the time be equally divided amoungst my three sons Wm, Claeb and George. Otherwise, not agreeing, to be sold and the money divided.
The stock, goods and chattels after lawful appraisment be divided amongst my three sons and my daughter Hannah.
Unto my son William one Negro fellow Ellick,
Unto my son Caleb one Negro fellow Dick,
Unto my son George one Negro fellow George,
Unto my daughter Hannah one Negro wench Rachel, provided they be valued with the residue of Negroes, goods and chattels, etc.
My three sons William, Caleb and George, executors.

22 Aug. 1771. Presented into Court by William, Caleb and George Sisson. Proved by Harben Moore, Reuben Finnell and John Moore. Executors with Wm. Pannill, Charles Bruce and Isaac George their securities entered into bond in the sum of £1000 current money.
