Facts and Events
Blanche was the daughter of Walter Boomhower and Ada Slade. When Ada died in the flu epidemic of 1918 Blanche and her brother, Walter Boomhower, Jr. were taken in by their maternal Aunt and Uncle Lura Slade and George Foucher. In 1921 they were adopted by them. At one time Blanche thought she had a vocation to be a nun and actually went so far as to "take the veil." Before her final vows she changed her mind and eventually she married Victor Pepper of Saratoga Springs, NY. They had three children, Barbara, Victor and Beverly. Vic died relatively young and eventually Blanche married Kenneth Craig. Blanche died in the Hallmark Nursing Home in Granville, NY and is buried near Vic in Greenridge Cemetery in Saratoga. |
