Col. Beverley Winslow was born July 3, 1734 at St. George Parish in Spotsylvania, Virginia and died February 22, 1793 at St. George Parish, same county. He married his first cousin Catherine Robinson who is the daughter of William Robinson and Agatha Beverley. Catherine was born July 20, 1742 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and died there in 1789. Beverley Winslow was lst Lieutenant of Spotsylvania County Militia 1756, was Sheriff 1764, and County Lieutenant 1781. An article from Virginia Herald dated July 18, 1793 reported death of Colonel Beverley Winslow "Died, on Friday July 12th, 1793 instant, after a tedious illness, Colonel Beverley Winslow, of Berkley Parish, Spotsylvania, in the 60th year of his age--much lamented by an extensive acquaintance." In Will Book E Spotsylvania County Records executors bond is dated September 3, 1793. Witnesses Benjamin Robinson, Henry Winslow, Robert S. Coleman; Christopher Daniel. Ex. sons Thomas and William Winslow. Leg. son Thomas; son William, land in the County of Orange; Robert Johnston of Kentucky; nephew Richard Parker, land in Fayette County, Kentucky; daughter Elizabeth Winslow; daughter Mary Chew; daughter Catherine Robinson Winslow; daughter Agatha Beverley Nelson and her husband John Nelson; daughter Susanna Parker and her husband William Parker; sons Thomas and Winslow to be guardians to my daughter Catherine Robinson. Colonel Beverley Winslow and Catherine Robinson married on December 23, 1757.
